Monastery of Assumption


After the monastery Avassou to Polystafylo (70 km.), On the borders of the prefecture of Ioannina, before entering the village, our right, is the Assumption Monastery of the Virgin Polystafyllou. The monastery is built on a nice location on a hill with big trees and cool running water. Because today territory only saved the church.
Rather, it was built in the 19th century. There is fitted with ceramic inscription dated 1848. The church has a round dome and dentate pottery decoration. The sanctuary is semicircular with notched decoration.
The entrance of the ledger, and the splint is arched. Today is paved and the church is not separated from the narthex. The church is single-aisled and has tied arches with wooden beams. The temple is carved.
The paintings are now almost destroyed.
